A new look at the island villas that Airbnb has built in the Philippines


A new study has found that more than 60% of the islands in the world have an Airbnb-like business model.

The study, conducted by The Lonely Planet and Airbnb in partnership with the Tourism Board of the Philippines, found that only 23 of the world’s 80 most visited islands had Airbnb-style businesses.

Airbnb is also looking to expand in the country and plans to open another 1,500 villas by 2019.
